Pyro for the Kellogg's Frosties Football Skills Challenge (DEC 04)

Le Maitre created the effects for the Kellogg's Frosties Football Skills Challenge at the GMEX in Manchester last Sunday. The event was for approximately 2,000 7 - 11 year old boys and girls to test and improve their footballing skills with John O'Shea from Manchester United.

Le Maitre were asked to create a spectacular and memorable effect for the Grand Finale of the event. A PP358 29 piece Waterfall was rigged from the circular truss in the centre of the arena. It started almost 40ft up, and descended to around 20 ft from the ground in the space of 20 seconds. A circular stage was then dropped from within the truss and made its way slowly to the ground. 4 x Co2 jets were fired pointing downwards at intervals to create a lunar landing effect. This was set to the "2001 Space Odyssey" music and timed to perfection. The overall effect looked fantastic and was enhanced by lights pulsing around the bottom of the stage. As soon as the prize giving was finished, 6 x confetti blowers were fired with 8 x kilos of gold and silver glitter in each. The children loved it, as did the organisers and client.
